In order to effectuate stretch mark removal, sometimes it is easier to eliminate the source of their appearance rather than trying to remove the stretch marks themselves. A case in point.

The authors of this study found that a 14 year old boy had developed stretch marks all over his body. The boy had started taking oral steroids a short time earlier. Such huge stretch marks are very rare, especially when the doses of steroids are not high. While the authors note that widely spread stretch marks are not a serious disease or disability, they acknowledge that it may constitute a major cosmetic problem.

So it's not just pregnancy that can lead to stretch marks. Add oral steroid therapy to your list of things that can cause stretch marks.
